About The Project
Isthmus Architecture was selected by the owners and stakeholders of the Historic Indian Agency House, initially, to develop a Historic Structure Report and then to prepare a Cultural Landscape Report to document existing conditions and recommendations for this important cultural resource. The property is owned by The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Wisconsin. The organization has been stewards of the site since 1932. The reports assisted the Dames with future physical needs, evaluated continued and expanded museum programs, development of a restoration and rehabilitation treatment plan and estimation of probable costs. After a successful fundraising campaign, the Dames retained Isthmus Architecture to oversee the comprehensive rehabilitation of the house and restoration of the immediate site.
