About The Project
Isthmus Architecture was retained to prepare a condition assessment and rehabilitation plan for the YWCA’s headquarters, the 12 story former New Belmont Hotel, a designated historic landmark prominently located on the Capitol Square. The result of this report is a comprehensive sustainable historic rehabilitation.
Construction was complete in January of 2011 and the building remained occupied for the duration. All work complied with the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for Historic Rehabilitation. The project qualified for significant federal and state historic tax credits, and met WHEDA funding criteria. A Section 106 compliance statement was prepared to show the effects of this project’s undertakings on the property. The completed rehabilitation project meets LEED EB-OM sustainability criteria.
