Moss Hollow Retreat
New Construction, Residential - 2010
About The Project
This 2,500 square foot second home overlooks a private lake on several hundred rugged acres in southwestern Wisconsin’s driftless region. Living is on one level with a central great room anchored by a massive wood burning fireplace. This sustainable design incorporates materials salvaged from a nearby 115 year old barn, formerly the owner’s family farm. Local stone was harvested from the barn’s foundation, including the 1896 cornerstone, and wood siding and rough timbers were salvaged for reuse throughout the new home, making it integral to the rural setting.
